I love this episode of "The Simpsons", a lot. This episode was always emotional for me. Not just because of the meaning behind it. But because how touching the episode "Mother Simpson" was. This was back when the simpsons were classic episodes. In the episode "Mother Simpson", when homers mom came back. That one, I believe, was the most touching of all the episodes. When mona simpson had come back. She had to explain why she left homer when he was so young, because Lisa and bart wanted to know if she was a con artist and marge wanted to know why, if she loved homer so much, why she left him. And she explained that she had broken into burnses lab filled with biological ware germs. So her and the hippies broke into it and used the anti biotic gas to cause them to die. After she was caught from trying to help burns after people ran over him. She had gotten caught and ran away, after seeing on the news that they knew what she looked like. She knew the only way to keep homer from harm was to leave. In order to protect him.
I always had this image in my head, for a VERY long time. Ever since I first saw it. That is how long. I always loved the ending of the episode a lot. It was touching, and tugged on our heart strings just seeing Homer looking up at the stars.

Still brings a tear to my eye, no matter what age you are, there's nothing wrong with getting emotional over moments seen on TV and film, animated or not, canon or non-canon, there's always something that brings the emotion in all of us
The Simpsons though has lots of fun silly mad crazy and wacky moments, even has it's use of beautiful, touching heart rendering and down right sad moments, there are many scenes that I will had admit had me choking up but this is by far one of the most saddest, maybe it's to do with family relations, especially on someone here like Homer - usually a silly old fool and full of laughs for the audience.
